House Slaying Suspect Arrested
One of the main things that can
wreck the so-called modern American dream is a murderer. You
and your family feel more at ease and rest more comfortably in a
neighborhood which hasn't had unsolved murder(s).
When a couple
are
killed in their own home in a gruesome, sudden, senseless and
unexpected homicide it tends
to instill a general feeling of
apprehension throughout the community and perhaps as far and wide as
such news carries.
Brock and Davina
Husted were murdered May 20th, 2009 in their southern California, Faria
Beach home by an unexpected intruder wearing a motorcycle helmet who
reportedly used a kitchen knife to stab them both to death, some of the
killing actually taking place before one of their children.
The
killer entered through the french doors in the rear of the home which
the Husteds may not have locked. This is the trouble with a
cold-blooded psycopathic killer - they strike with no warning
sometimes, and in areas that have not been experiencing homicides, so
residents often get lax on security.
A 20
year old male suspect, Joshua
Graham Packer, has been arrested on three counts of murder and two
counts of robbery in the murder of the Husteds, reportedly based on dna
evidence and items in possession taken from the Husted home, according
to sources. It seems like this is big news, considering how
many persons were in shock and awe of this horrible tragedy at the
time, but, on CNN, for example, this story only made a tiny
sub-headline, 'Man arrested in couple's beach house slaying'. (1) It
seems like the tragedy is being downplayed. I do not see this
arrest news at Foxnews.com yet, unless it is buried somewhere there.

SECURITY EXPOSED
Since there were
16 homicides last week in Los Angeles County, according to Latimes.com,
with so many killings occurring it looks as if the media is
unable to give but a brief update on these cases.
According
to CNN, Chief Gary Pentis of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department
said it appeared the suspect targeted the victims and it was his
opinion that the murders were not a random act.
This
is a truly amazing feat of police-detective work. Judging
from all the blogs on this case a lot of onlookers, as well as the
victims' survivors, will receive a great deal of closure if this
suspect is convicted.
This article may
be expanded. Some of the other main media sites are not yet
reporting this important arrest.
