Referring to Obama and how he's running a closed (non-transparent?) ship, she is reported to say, "He needs to call in those around him and kind of broaden his inner circle of confidants because right now it sounds like the inner circle that he has are some Chicago thugs. And that's not doing our country much good." Now it is being 'announced' and made public what Obama is and who his confidants are. It is going mainstream. Remember this editor's comments on how the British Petroleum Oil Spill in the Gulf could have been capped, as you learn of Sarah Palin's statement, "And, you know, I've offered the greatest oil and gas team in the world assembled, I believe, because they're up there in Alaska helping to produce nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy. When persons are so angry and upset they kill others out of anguish and turn the weapon or gun on themselves they are in mortal anguish and torment as in "weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth". Although there may be countless forms of such torment, such as burning up within a nuclear holocaust, or being unable to die when one is in such torment, there is also mortal agony which is increasing on this earth. Timid requests for the initial $300 Million from B.P. are
not enough, although the subsequent request of $457 Million for a
seafood safety plan is a little more in the right direction.
1. B.P. should have all assets frozen except for those used to clean up and stop the oil spill. If necessary this could involve the world court. 2. Then, until all lawsuits and damages, fines are settled, and until the entire cleanup of the Gulf and the affected oceans and coastlines are completed and the oil leaks are plugged, all assets should remain frozen except to settle with, clean up with, and stop leaks. 3. In the event B.P. doesn't have that much cash and assets, it should be bound over and annexed by The United States. That's right, it should be taken over and owned by The United States as a forteiture or inability to settle the astronomical debt of replacing the environment, evacuated homes, injured and lost lives, marine life and seafood, etc., as B.P. has not shown it can act responsibly and should be considered a global liability just like certain financial firms are considered financial terrorists. 4. Yes, LBers, you’ve read that correctly: a state has invoked eminent domain in order to take back land from the feds. According to the AP, Herbert signed a pair of bills into law that supporters hope will spark similar legislation throughout the West. Many contend that federal ownership of wide parcels of land restricts economic development in an energy-rich part of the country. Many people in Utah are still angry that President Clinton designated a large area in Utah as a national monument in 1996, a move that stopped development on the land. More than 60 percent of Utah is owned by the U.S. government, and policy makers here have long complained that federal ownership hinders their ability to generate tax revenue and adequately fund public schools."
